Cultural event on the occasion of Gudi Padwa was held in the city

'Chaitrapalvi' a dance event was held on the occasion of Gudi Padwa on behalf of Kalavardhini Sanstha and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). Dance Guru Pt Manisha Sathe (Kathaka), and Manjiri Alegaonkar (Classical Singing) participated in this program. The event was organised under the cultural outreach program of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Infosys Foundation. This cultural program was planned to mark the arrival of Chaitra month.

This was the 155th program presented under the cultural outreach program of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Infosys Foundation.

The program was held at Sardar Mahadev Balwant Natu Auditorium (Senapati Bapat Road) of 'Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan'. The Honorary Secretary of 'Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan' welcomed Prof. Nand Kumar Kakirde. This event was free. This was the 155th program presented under the cultural outreach program of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Infosys Foundation.

Manjiri Alegaonkar sang Raag Sri in the beginning. 'Tum Ho Aadhaar' slogan was presented. The tarana 'Ardhangi Girija Gauri' was performed by Najakati. He also performed Nirguni Bhajan of Saint Kabir and won the hearts of the audience.

Manisha Sathe performed a dance rendition of Prabhu Shriram and the audience was enthralled by performing the dance 'Aada Chautal' along with her fellow disciples. Manisha Sathe performed the thumri 'Mohe Chhedo Na Nand' and made the evening of Padva liquid. His granddaughter Sarveshwari Sathe, Alapi Jog also performed 'Jai Jai Shivshankar'. A swargunjan musical composition was also introduced. Many dignitaries including Nishi Bala, Sharangdhar Sathe were present. Anuprita Lele, Revathi Deshpande moderated.
